How To Unclog A Shower Drain Without Chemicals.
You don’t need to run out and buy that caustic stuff to clear out your shower drain, just some vinegar, baking soda and water will do. Try this once, and if it doesn’t get it all, try it a second time. Most of the time, this concoction will clear out any clogged drain!
1. Remove the drain cover with a screw driver
2. Pour 3/4 of a cup of baking soda down the drain.
3. Get an old rag and have it ready. Pour 1/2 cup of vinegar down the drain after the baking soda, and immediately plug the drain with the old rag. Walk away and hang out for 10-15 minutes.
4. Head to the kitchen and put on a tea kettle full of water. Bring this to a boil, and then bring it into the bathroom. Remove the old rag from the drain, and very slowly pour the boiling water down the drain.
Pour all the water down the drain and then test it with some water from the faucet. Is your drain clear and the water is emptying fine? Then you don’t need to do it again. But if it isn’t, repeat all the steps to get those last bits of grime out, and your drain should be as good as new.
